Feedback vital to staff morale

As performance improvement specialists we were fascinated to read about the experience of market researchers attempting to check up on corporate morale.

But there was no mention about telling staff what will be done about the results of such surveys. In Professor Martin Ford’s study into corporate motivation, it can only be improved if people are given direct feedback about what action will be taken. Briefing team managers to then provide a watered-down version of the results which suit their own personal agenda is not enough. Most employees we’ve come across don’t care how big the problem is. They just want something done.
