KC lures Coke man for top European job

Coca-Cola’s marketing manager David Glik is leaving to become European marketing director at Kimberly-Clark.

He will take up the role within the household division of the world’s largest tissues manufacturer, taking pan-European responsibility for the Kleenex brand.

He announced his move to Coke bosses on Monday afternoon.

He told Marketing Week: “I would not have left Coke [but] I was offered a great opportunity at KC and it was as simple as that really.”

Glik was recently put onto a temporary project within Coke’s north-west European division for marketing, reporting to European marketing director Jeremy Schwartz.

James Saunders subsequently became marketing manager as Glik took on the role of special projects manager.

Glik has been at Coke for three years and led the 14m Euro 96 football sponsorship programme.
