McCann lands 15m Royal & Sun

McCann-Erickson has won the 15m advertising account for Royal & Sun Alliance, the recently merged composite insurance group.

McCann-Erickson has won the 15m advertising account for Royal & Sun Alliance, the recently merged composite insurance group.

Proposals by the agency on how to handle the repositioning and rationalisation of brands which fall within the merged group are believed to have been provisionally approved by the diversified financial services company.

But McCann must wait until next month for formal confirmation of its appointment, while its proposals are reviewed internally, and win the backing of all parts of the Royal & Sun Alliance empire.

Peter Jackson, group communications manager at Royal & Sun Alliance, says the company expects to announce an agency appointment in July, but denies any final decision has been made.

In the meantime, press ads by Leagas Shafron Davis, incumbent agency for Sun Alliance, will continue to run for the merged group.
