Reader’s Choice to launch features monthly

A monthly magazine bringing together “the best” features published in English language titles around the world is being launched in the UK in September under the name Cover.

The publishing company Reader’s Choice aims to market the title to busy professionals who do not have time to read the increasing number of magazines and newspapers. It expects most of its readers to be aged between 24 and 54 and to be an equal mix of men and women.

It will buy the secondary rights for the articles from major publishers around the world. On average, 20 to 30 per cent of the articles are expected to be from international publications.

Apart from the main features pages and regular interviews and letters pages, the magazine will also have sections on travel, food, health and fitness and will occasionally cover current affairs.

The magazine is the first feature compilation magazine to launch in the UK and at the moment it has no direct competitor. The only other compilation magazine in the UK is The Week, an amalgamation of the week’s news and current affairs, which sells 40,000 copies around the world.
