EURO RSCG scoops 3m Cadbury’s Astros

EURO RSCG Wnek Gosper is understood to have won a further 3m of Cadbury business with the launch of the Astros brand in September (MW June 26).

EURO RSCG won the new account after pitching against Cadbury’s other roster agency GGT. Astros will take on Nestlé Rowntree’s Smarties and Mars’ M&Ms, and is aimed at the teenage market. Astros have a biscuit centre coated in chocolate with a candy shell and will be sold in cartons.

It is Cadbury’s big launch this year, and it is understood the company is putting 6m into the marketing budget. Last year, Cadbury signalled a push into new products with the launch of the Fuse bar, backed by a 3m budget. The advertising account was also won by EURO RSCG.

Neither EURO nor Cadbury would comment on the appointment, but the agency has recently won all new product work for the chocolate giant. Apart from Fuse, it also relaunched Milk Tray and it has the Crunchie business. GGT handles Cadbury’s Dairy Milk, Time Out and Wispa.
