Nigel Sharrocks, managing director of Grey Advertising, is understood to have resigned from the agency in what will be the second departure by a senior director in six months. Sharrocks is thought to have handed in his notice in April, and will be moving on to an undisclosed post in September. Both Sharrocks and chairman of Grey Roger Edwards refuse to comment on any forthcoming management changes. Client services director Richard Pinder left to become deputy managing director of Ogilvy & Mather earlier this year.

Ogilvy & Mather is launching a campaign for American Express featuring its sponsor-ship of US golf prodigy Tiger Woods on July 12. The poster campaign will be displayed at 1,350 sites across the UK, coinciding with Woods’ trip to the UK to compete in The British Open. The ads are the first UK executions to stem from a five-year endorsement deal, reported to be worth up to $19m (11.5m), signed between Amex and the 21-year-old golfing star earlier this year.

BBDO Worldwide has won the 40m consolidated domestic and international account for Spanish airline Iberia. Grey Madrid previously handled the international side of the account and Casadevall Padreno & PRG of Barcelona worked on the domestic side. The win replaces the Delta Airlines account which the group lost to Saatchi & Saatchi earlier this year.

The High Court has imposed an interim ban on misleading advertisements from a company called Tyler Barrett &Co. The ads refer to the availability of grants from the European Union and other sources.

GGT is in talks with Asian agency Batey Advertising over whether to increase its stake or pull out. The agency is GGT’s only presence in Asia and is one of the biggest on the Pacific rim.

Bass’ poster ads for Hooper’s Hooch through EURO RSCG Wnek Gosper have been criticised by two Labour MPs. Chris McCafferty, MP for Calder Valley, and Kali Mountford, MP for Colne Valley, say the style of the ads will appeal to young people.

Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO is breaking TV ads for Diet Pepsi on July 14. Three 20-second executions will be supported by five press executions in a print campaign to run in the young women’s press until the end of the year.

Trigon Snacks has confirmed that agency Grounds Morris is likely to undertake future consumer advertising for Planters peanuts.
