FutureNet unveils online audit results

FutureNet, the online publishing arm of Future Magazines, has become the first British consumer site to release audience figures based on a third-party audit of its Websites.

Figures released this week by the Audit Bureau of Circulations reveal the site achieved just over 1 million page impressions by users of Future’s Web versions of its electronic games and hobby titles during June.

Britain’s first official Website audit, again conducted by ABC //electronic for VNU and released in April, shows a more modest total of 188,000 page impressions achieved over the month to March 2 by the publisher’s Mag.net (vnu.co.uk) site.

C4, The Times/Sunday Times, LineOne, The British Tourist Board and MSN are among 19 clients expected to issue audits of Website use in the coming months. Rival audit house BPA International is also targeting on line publishers to improve auditing levels among UK Website operators.
