WCRS director tipped for Rapier

WCRS client services director Simon Toaldo is strongly tipped to join Rapier Stead & Bowden as a senior director.

Rapier has a below-the-line heritage, but has been actively recruiting since it picked up the 45m above-the-line consumer launch campaign for Cable & Wireless Communications earlier this month.

Toaldo, who was on holiday as Marketing Week went to press, has been at WCRS for eight years. He joined the agency as an account director and was made client services director on the back of his contribution to the Bell’s Whisky, Carling Black Label and Canon accounts.

Since the start of the year, WCRS has picked up the Top Rank advertising business and Trebor Bassett consolidated its 6m advertising into the agency.

Neither WCRS nor Rapier would comment on the story.

This week, WCRS’s media division moved into the offices of fellow Havas agency Mediapolis. WCRS media director Marc Mendoza has become managing director of Mediapolis.
