The TBWA Group has acquired Hager, a Vienna-based agency with offices in five East European countries. The deal was struck to better serve key client Henkel in the region.

Danone, the food group, has secured a deal for its Danone Kid drinking yogurt to be included in children’s Happy Meals sold at McDonald’s restaurants in France (right). The meals previously included a carton of rival Yoplait’s fromage frais.

Mandarina Duck, the Italian fashion company, has put its advertising into Paradiset DDB, Stockholm. Other agencies pitching included Armando Testa, Verba DDB and Wieden & Kennedy.

Local authorities in Tuscany are threatening to introduce a law preventing any food advertising from being filmed in the region, other than that designed to promote sales of locally-produced goods.

Kraft Jacobs Suchard has awarded its German media planning account, with a spend of about DM390m (130m), to Media Consult and Media Direction. Three other agencies pitched for the business.

La Française des Jeux, France’s gaming authority, has moved the FF90m (9m) account for its Loto game to Alice from Ammirati Puris Lintas, which had handled the business for the past three years.

Bassat Ogilvy & Mather, Spain’s largest advertising group, is believed to be negotiating a stake in Slogan, a smaller agency based in Madrid.

Telepi, the Italian pay-TV channel in which Canal Plus recently took a 90 per cent stake, is to relaunch at the end of August supported by advertising from Eurocom Concato di Pace. Eurocom takes over the Lira100bn account from Pirella Gttsche Lowe.

Ingo Krauss, head of Young & Rubicam Germany, has unexpectedly left the agency after 17 years. Krauss, who has also served as chief executive officer Y&R Europe, is said to have differed with management on strategic issues.

Insalud, Spain’s health authority, has appointed Grey Trace and CPP to handle a one-year public information campaign promoting health awareness. The account could be worth up to Pta6,000bn ($24m) in billings.

Monte dei Paschi, the Italian bank which recently moved its ad account to Milano & Grey, is to feature Luciano Pavarotti in its ads for the next three years.
