The Times/Sunday Times Website has become the first national newspaper to receive an audit certificate from ABC//electronic, the online arm of the Audit Bureau of Circulations. The Times’ site achieved 7.8 million page views during May 1997, making it the best-used audited UK site to date.

Puma is to roll out an instore CD-Rom based kiosk promo-tion this autumn, devised by Red Kite New Media. The touch- screen kiosks will initially be rolled out at stores across Northern Europe, and will feature general information and entertainment on football. They will be placed alongside a “shoe selector” allowing users to choose a specific shoe or boot.

Momentus New Media, the digital agency, has been appointed to review the IT strategy of the V&A Museum. The review is aimed at raising revenue and audiences for the museum’s collections. “Millions of new visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy an interactive, virtual learning experience without entering the physical confines of the museum,” according to Momentus’ md Julian Ferguson.

CDNow, the global online music retailer, raised $10m (7m) to help finance an expansion of its Web-based operation and an “aggressive” advertising campaign in its core US market. The three-year-old company claims its Website has attracted more than 180,000 customers.
