Beattie’s line is fcuking unoriginal

I heartily agree with Mr Murray’s comments concerning Mr Beattie’s French Connection advertising campaign strapline “fcuk” (MW August 28).

I’m sure Mr Beattie is aware that the “music lovers” and aficionados who knew of “fcuk” before the campaign could attribute it to the early Nineties band Family Cat UK, which had its play on the twisted acronym well before him.

Notably, Penthouse magazine has been reported in The Guardian as going one step further and renaming itself PentHouse UK for obvious reasons.
