Benefits to be had from tax

I could not agree more with John Fisher of Page & Moy (MW August 21) when he points out the ridiculous implications Harriet Harman’s tax on Air Miles would have.

I could not agree more with John Fisher of Page & Moy (MW August 21) when he points out the ridiculous implications Harriet Harman’s tax on Air Miles would have.

He suggests that we might as well just scrap marketing altogether and then lists some of the benefits that would be missed if this were to happen. However, he has overlooked the one real bonus of abandoning marketing. It would surely mean the end of Harriet’s colleague and Minister without Portfolio Peter Mandelson. Would this be a fair trade?
