Hasbro brand Action Man is seeking a European marketing director, who, despite the title, will have global marketing responsibility.
The global marketing role has been created by a worldwide realignment of marketing responsibilities by games and toys giant Hasbro, which will give UK staff the lead role in driving key brands into non-European markets.
The move will also result in Hasbro’s US marketing staff taking more direct control of marketing some of its toys and games in Europe.
European business head Caroline Whitfield, who joined Hasbro from Birds Eye last November, says the changes are designed to avoid duplication of brand development effort across its US and UK offices.
“Certain brands like Action Man, Subbuteo, and Cluedo have strong European followings,” she says. “We want to expand their appeal in other parts of the world, through marketing and research and development activity based here.”
