Walkers chief McEwan exits in restructure

Mhairi McEwan, vice-president of UK marketing at snack foods giant Walkers, is leaving the company.

It is not yet known whether she will remain within parent company PepsiCo, where she has been for the past three years.

The move follows a decision by Walkers’ parent company Frito-Lay – the global snack foods division of PepsiCo – to “centralise and integrate [its] regional marketing”.

“This [restructure] clearly makes sense for the business to leverage sale but does not meet my personal goals or ambitions at this time,” saysMcEwan.

Commercial vice president for Europe Martin Glenn will temporarily take up marketing responsibility for the UK.

McEwan was promoted to her role at the end of last year. She was previously vice president of marketing for PepsiCo’s beverages.
