Real Time, the new media production company, has been appointed by Condé Nast Online (right) to design and produce all interactive media content for its Web-based publications.

Brent Hoberman, business development manager at online service provider LineOne, has left to join online auction house Quixell in the same role. The firm, which sells electronic and computer-related products through the Internet, is planning to launch a multilingual service to support sales across Europe.

VNU, the magazine publisher, is to unveil a Website revamp this week featuring a homepage with links to electronic versions of over a dozen business titles including Accountancy Age and Computing.

A poll by MORI for hardware manufacturer Motorola reveals one in ten Britons uses the Net regularly. Two out of ten surveyed said they had no interest in gaining access to it. The report pointed to a slight decline in numbers using hi-tech products, suggesting sales are being increasingly driven by existing users upgrading old equipment, rather than by new users.

The US Department of Justice has seen testimony lodged by computer manufacturer Compaq, which reveals that Microsoft threatened to scrap a software supply deal with Compaq if it distributed its computers with rival Web browsers. Microsoft faces the threat of a $1m-a-day fine in the US and investigation by the European Commission, following allegations of anti-competitive practice in Europe’s Internet software market.
