Griffin Bacal picks up Schwarzkopf business

Griffin Bacal has picked up business from Schwarzkopf, understood to be pan-European and worth up to 4m, to produce advertising for its hair colourant products.

The above-the-line account is understood to be for the launch of a new range called Country Colours.

Other Schwarzkopf Henkel brands include Poly Perms and colourants – which are sold in Australia, Spain and Germany – and Henara semi-permanent colouring powders.

Neither Schwarzkopf nor the Omnicom-owned agency would comment on which brands the agency would work for or in which markets.

The company’s Gliss and Henara haircare ranges, as well as its Thera-Med oral care products, are handled by FCA!, the result of a merger between Kelly Weedon Shute and Impact FCA! earlier this year.

CIA Medianetwork won the 4m centralised UK media buying and planning account for Schwarzkopf Henkel this time last year.

German toiletries giant Henkel acquired Schwarzkopf in 1995. Other integrated brands include Aapri skincare, Solvite glue and Supersoft haircare.
