Bacofoil reviews account to freshen up its brand profile

Bacofoil, the brand leader in the foil market, is reviewing its 600,000 through-the-line account in preparation for a major brand push.

Incumbent agency Willox Holmes Law will pitch against Butler Lutos Sutton Wilkinson, Marshalls Communication Group and Anthony Dumbreck & Partners.

The initial brief will be to raise the brand profile for Bacofoil but it is likely to stretch to other Baco Consumer Products brands.

In October, Baco Consumer Products, which owns Bacofoil, merged with HD Plastics – a week after the latter was acquired by British Aluminium.

Bacofoil has worked with Willox for five years but newly appointed product manager Andy Blackmore says it is time to take the brand forward. “We are looking for some fresh ideas and new input for the next five years,” he says.

Baco’s marketing department will merge with HD’s following the takeover. Baco’s sales and marketing director post, vacated in July when Steve Bird was promoted to managing director, is likely to be filled by an HD employee.

Siân Horton has been promoted to marketing controller to caretake the department.

Bacofoil is involved in a three-month sponsorship deal for two cookery shows on cable TV channel Living – Ready, Steady Cook and the Heat Is On.
