BA hunts top marketer for budget airline
British Airways is looking for a marketing director for its new low-cost airline which it aims to launch early in the new year.
This week, the airline finally admitted that it would launch the airline, following months of speculation (MW July 31).
The operation will be based in Stansted and run by Barbara Cassani, who was previously general manager for BA in the US.
The marketing director will be responsible for developing the airline’s brand and maintaining its separate identity.
HHCL & Partners will create the launch and recruitment advertising. Ogilvy 1 will adapt the campaign across Europe, while Wolff Olins is working on the name and corporate identity.
It is thought the airline will not include the word “British”. It will fly to Italy, Spain, Scandinavia, France and Germany, although destinations have not been announced.
