Rank recruits chief to run two holiday brands

Rank Holidays Division has ap-pointed Nick Burrows as its first marketing director for both the Oasis Family Holiday Villages and Warner Holidays brands.

Burrows, who joins from Moat House Hotels where he was group marketing controller, will be based in the company’s new Hemel Hempstead headquarters. Antonio Betes, previous marketing director for Oasis, left because of the relocation from Gatwick to the new offices.

At Moat House, Burrows led marketing activity for the main Moat House brand, and for its sub-brands Meeting Centre, Club Motivation and Views of Britain Leisure Breaks.

Rank Holidays says Burrows will be charged with developing strategic and tactical marketing to boost its two brands.

Warner, which owns six hotels and five holiday villages, is expanding in the UK, having opened two new properties last year.

In another appointment, Superbreak Mini-Holidays has hired Ray Jones as its director of brand development. He was previously managing director of Centre Stage, which is part of the Radisson Edwardian Hotels group.

At Superbreak, Jones will oversee its Superbreak and Goldenrail brands which sell over 650,000 short breaks every year. He will be exploring a series of new products and markets including the Internet, incentive travel and Government projects.
