Nasa boffin unveils cure for hangover

An ex-Nasa scientist claims to have developed the Holy Grail of the health sector and come up with a formula to prevent hangovers.

Called Get Up & Go, it is about to appear in Superdrug stores.

Dr John Bott-Walters is launching a company, TAGG NPD, on the back of his new “wonder” product. It is being distributed in Eire by Beeline Healthcare and a European deal is also on the cards. The product has been branded and marketed by consultancy The Creative Leap.

It is claimed the powdered formula neutralises symptoms of over-indulgence by helping the liver to process food, alcohol and their breakdown byproducts rapidly.

However, it does not rid the body more quickly of alcohol, and packets carry a warning against next day drink-driving.

Ingredients include amino acids, which help process the food and alcohol, and sodium chloride to help rehydration. If taken at bedtime after an evening of indulgence it claims you will wake feeling “refreshed” instead of with a headache, fatigue and upset stomach. Bott-Walters says the product will be marketed as an alternative to analgesics, which are facing a backlash.
