10m Standard Life for Feather

Standard Life has appointed Feather Brooksbank to handle its 10m media planning and buying account.

The business involves media for the corporate advertising campaign, (for which The Leith Agency and WCRS are currently pitching), the soon-to-launch Standard Life bank and for telesales.

Faulds Advertising, the full service incumbent for corporate adverting, repitched – but not for the creative business. Start-up agency The Media Business Scotland also pitched, along with BMP Optimum and MediaVest.

Standard Life advertising manager Pamela Hodge says: “Feather Brooksbank put forward the strongest TV price strategy. When you consider that the bulk of the spend will be on TV, then the odd 0.5 per cent here or there makes all the difference.”

The Edinburgh-based agency has promised that the corporate, bank and telesales operations will each have their own dedicated team.

Last week, it emerged that through-the-line agency Rapier Stead & Bowden has been appointed to handle the 2m launch of the telesales operation after a five-way pitch.

The life insurer plans to launch its telesales operation, which will sell financial products direct to the consumer, early next year.
