BSkyB boss Vickers quits

BSkyB sales and marketing director Tony Vickers is understood to be leaving just days after marketing director Jim Hytner was poached to join Channel 5.

Sources say Vickers is retiring. It is not known if he has another job to go to.

Sky is undergoing a senior reshuffle with Mark Booth and Elisabeth Murdoch taking over from the former chief executive Sam Chisholm and his deputy David Chance. Other senior executives are thought to be considering their positions.

Only a fortnight ago it emerged that Sky had tried and failed to poach Dawn Airey for a senior programming role.

A spokesman for Sky refused to confirm or deny Vickers’ departure.
