Media hack turns Sky-high earner

The Diary recently attended the launch party for the magnum opus of media analyst and former Independent media journalist Mathew Horsman. He has just written a weighty book about the shenanigans at BSkyB called “Sky High”.

All the great and the good of media were there – Elisabeth Murdoch herself, Kelvin McKenzie, all the Guardian’s media editorial team etc.

As was le Horsman, the literary luminary himself. How we all laughed when Guardian media editor John Mulholland quipped that his paper had considered offering Horsman a reporter’s job but realised it could employ two journalists for the cost of matching his existing salary at Henderson Crosthwaite.”Not two reporters, but three,” indicted a smiling Horsman rubbing his hands in pecuniary glee.
