Grattan boss out following top-level row

Catalogue giant Grattan has ousted its customer and marketing director Elaine Greenwood, following a boardroom disagreement.

It is understood that Greenwood, who has been marketing director of Grattan for five years, left the office suddenly yesterday (Tuesday), and that she has no job to go to.

Grattan chief executive Steve Bullas has made a number of board level changes since taking the helm in April 1997.

“Over the past five years Elaine’s contribution to the strength of the brand and the development of our marketing and customer operations has been outstanding. She has built a first-class team here and Grattan will continue to build on that,” says Bullas.

Three new directors were added to the board last year after Grattan consolidated its three home shopping brands – Grattan, Look Again and Kaleidoscope – into a single-site operation at its Bradford headquarters. Before joining Grattan, Greenwood was associate director, marketing of Littlewoods home shopping division and marketing manager for the Callard & Bowser Group.

Business planning director Nick Allen will manage the marketing and publications departments until a new customer and marketing director is appointed.
