…as London office scraps Hoare’s role as chairman

The London office of TBWA is scrapping the post of group chairman held by Jo Hoare, who says he is considering other positions in parent company Omnicom’s extensive network.

One possibility is that he will become managing director at Omnicom agency, Griffin Bacal, which is part of the ad giant’s DDB network.

Hoare was previously chairman of TBWA before the merger with Simons Palmer Clemmow Johnson early last year. He then assumed the position of group chairman and has since worked on the integration of the two companies. He has also managed TBWA’s purchase of the Payne Stracey direct marketing agency.

Hoare says: “I am looking for another berth. The chairman’s job was always going to be for a year – I had two mergers to deal with.

“The role is not needed now and I want to get my hands on other opportunities.”

Hoare says no decisions have been taken on his next job and would not confirm that he was about to take on the Griffin Bacal position. “I am still looking at options in Omnicom,” he claims.
