…Wells BDDP chief executive Frank Assumma has been ousted from the New York advertising agency. Procter & Gamble pulled its 80m advertising from the agency two weeks ago resulting in the GGT Group being sold to Omnicom. Assumma has been replaced by Steve Davis, who was the chief executive officer of Young & Rubicam, New York.

Eddie Bowman, head of account management at Ogilvy & Mather, is understood to be in discussions about taking up a senior post within another WPP company.

Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO and DMB&B are understood to be the front runners in the battle to win the 1.7m Department of Environment Transport and the Regions account to highlight climate change.

Jaeger, (right) the upmarket fashion brand, has handed Harari-Page its advertising account, estimated to be worth 1m. The ads will be shown on bus sides in London. It is the first time Jaeger has advertised since 1992.

The team of four which set up HHCL Brasserie have now launched their own company and called it the Advertising Brasserie. HHCL is currently deciding what to do with HHCL Brasserie, which still exists as a company but now has no staff.

Cogent has been hired to handle the launch advertising for the Britannia Building Society’s new intermediary mortgage company Verso.

J Walter Thompson will create a 3m launch programme for Kellogg’s move into the UK bagel market next month. Bagels will be sold under the Lender’s brand which was acquired by Kellogg’s in the US in 1996.
