Double-take for Guinness pic

I don’t think I have seen anything as funny as the recent juxtaposition of the strong “Guinness chief resigns” (MW January 15) headline with a picture of a half-clad model inappropriately captioned “Guinness: Deputy chief executive Colin Storm will be taking charge in May”.

What is the lass in her scanties doing impersonating a man who is probably a very sober Guinness UK chief (or is that not how captions are supposed to work?). Or is it, in fact, the departing Guinness chief, who has resigned for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with ICI (where the advertising will probably not give him so much scope)?

Perhaps you might want to steer the much maligned Iain Murray on course for this story. I have to admit I turn to his column first more frequently than any other – never let the morons find a place to relegate his brand of clever humour!
