Its staff incentive programme sends a chosen employee to Antarctica.

The press release sent out to publicise CWC’s magnanimity gushes: “During the trip the group visited many expedition sites in the area and saw the effects of man’s impact on the Antarctic environment.”

The fortunate Louise, chosen from 150 applicants for the trip, says she witnessed “considerable glacial melts and rubbish and filth left behind at disused whaling stations”.

Apparently CWC is now using the lessons learnt by Louise as a key element in developing the company’s personality.

What whaling has to do with crossed lines is anybody’s guess.
