The Media Shop has been appointed by Hoverspeed Fast Ferries to handle media planning and buying. Hoverspeed, which runs hovercraft and SeaCats across the English Channel, previously used CIA Medianetwork.

Iain McLellan, former Express Newspapers research and development director, is the new director of the Outside Advertising Association. He joins former Tory MP Matthew Carrington at the poster contractors’ trade body. Carrington is taking over the role of chairman.

IPC’s latest launch, the first since the buyout by its management, is called Living Etc (right) and will hit the newsstands on March 6.

Dani Behr, the youth TV presenter, has signed a six-month contract to present a four-day-a-week, four-hour dance music show on Kiss FM, beginning in March.

Action Time, the gameshow development company, has promoted Andrew Pemberton to head international sales. He replaces Keri Lewis Brown, who will ‘concentrate on family life in the country’, according to the company.

John Hall, rugby star and former Bath and England player, has launched a Website called One Rugby Place. The site (www.onerugbyplace.com) contains news, rugby reports and a one-stop shop for related merchandise.

The National Magazine Company has appointed list-broking consultancy McCarthy O’Connor to streamline its database.

Ian Locks, chief executive of the Periodical Publishers Association, has agreed to chair Masthead TV, a Centaur conference organised in association with Marketing Week.
