TMB Scotland picks up briefs worth 2m

The Media Business Scotland has won the 1.6m media planning and buying account for Global Video following a three-way pitch.

Global Video is the second largest video retailer in the UK after Blockbuster – it has 282 stores in the north and Scotland. TMB Scotland pitched against Booth Lockett Makin and the incumbent agency FB Media Direction in Glasgow. It is understood the client talked to a further two London agencies.

TMB Scotland has also picked up the 500,000 Northern Ireland Tourist Board planning and buying account. This followed a full service pitch in which the agency worked in conjunction with the below-the-line outfit One to One Communications.

The through-the-line campaign will run in the press, on posters and the radio. J Walter Thompson remains as the above-the-line agency for Southern Ireland.

The two wins push the agency’s billings over 5m only mark five months after opening its doors. Other clients include First Group, Scotsman Publications and investment groups Templeton and Martin Currie.
