Ex-St Ivel man fills KP crisps role
United Biscuits has put former St Ivel head of strategic planning Neil Robinson in charge of marketing at its KP Foods crisps division, following the departure of the unit’s director of marketing, Hugh McPherson.
Robinson has joined under the title of marketing controller. He will be responsible for a range of snack brands including Hula Hoops, Skips, McCoys, Discos, Roysters, and Mini Cheddars. He will have a marketing budget of about 7m at his disposal.
Robinson worked at St Ivel for eight years and handled brands such as Prize Desserts, Shape and Candy Box. Before that he spent three years at drinks company Showerings, where he worked on brands such as Babycham and Olde English Cider.
The crisps unit does not intend to appoint a direct replacement for McPherson. It is not clear where he has moved to.
