Imagination still scoring Dome runs

When Imagination parted company with the Millennium Dome in 1997 there was an astonishingly professional lack of mud-slinging between the two parties – particularly when compared with the foot-stomping departure of creative director Stephen Bayley later in the year.

The subsequent revelation that the then Millennium Central paid Imagination over 7.3m for the work it had completed may explain why the Dome’s organisers didn’t want to belittle the professionalism of the design consultancy.

But now the reason Imagination has maintained a polite “no comment” over events at the Dome is becoming clear. The agency is returning to Greenwich, putting together the stand for Dome sponsor BT.
