Center Parcs in UK director hunt

Center Parcs is looking for a UK sales and marketing director to replace Tom Wright, after his promotion to the new role of marketing sales and development director for Center Parcs Europe.

The new marketing director will report to Center Parcs UK managing director Peter Moore and will also work closely with Wright, who is now based in Rotterdam.

Scottish & Newcastle-owned Center Parcs specialises in short-break holidays and has 13 villages in Europe including three in the UK, at Longleat, Thetford and Sherwood Forest. Its continental sites are based in Holland, Germany and Belgium.

The new UK marketing director will work with Wright, a former Carlsberg-Tetley new product development director, to create a more integrated European marketing strategy.

In April, the company appointed the Bates Group to handle the 10m Center Parcs account after announcing that it wanted to use a single agency network across Europe.

Wright says: “The appointment of Bates and my new role shows that there will be more convergence in terms of marketing across Europe.

“There will also be an increasing emphasis on relationship marketing and this will form a critical part of the marketing mix because so many of our clients are repeat customers.”

Wright has been managing both the European and UK marketing and sales for the past two months.
