It was with some surprise that I read the Diary article in last week’s (May 28) issue of Marketing Week “Weller never, who said ‘nepotism’?”
The implications that Tim Weller was the recipient of the Contract Paper Publisher of the Year Award (Business & Professional Magazines) because he was one of the judges is unfounded and, indeed, untrue.
Independent of his success in this category, Tim Weller sat solely on the judging panel for the Business & Professional Magazine of the Year (sponsored by Royal Mail), for which Investment Week was shortlisted. The article was correct in its assumption that Tim left the room when the judges discussed his title.
More than 100 people were in involved in the judging with each of our 18 panels judging only one category.
