The Advertising Association has revealed that total advertising expenditure in the UK for 1997 rose to 13.14bn – a nominal increase of 9.3 per cent, or six per cent after allowing for inflation.

FCA! has created a press campaign for haircare brand Henara, using the strapline ‘Be a natural phenomenon’.

Havas Advertising is to buy a majority stake in French advertising agency start-up Enjoy Scher Lafarge.

The Advertising Standards Authority has received 45 complaints about national press ads for Nicky Clarke’s Sport range of haircare goods, created by Publics Focus. The ads show naked or partially-dressed models.

GGT has created TV ads for Bulmer’s Scrumpy Jack cider, featuring idealistic young green campaigners. The ads will run on Sky TV this summer.

Faulds is to create a press and poster campaign to support Skydrive – the joint initiative between Avis car hire and British Midland.

Golley Slater & Partners has created the launch campaign for the Honda TRX450 All Terrain Vehicle, targeted at the agricultural market. The ads feature Bovril and Trebor Extra Strong Mints lookalike packaging to convey a message of ‘beefiness’.
