Pepsi Blue chief lands top Euro role

Tim Davie, one of the most senior figures behind Pepsi’s Project Blue, has been promoted to the top marketing job in Europe.

Davie replaces Arnold Veraart as vice-president marketing for the business unit Europe and sub-Saharan Africa (ESSA), which includes the UK.

He is currently marketing director of colas for ESSA and will take up the new post on August 1.

At the same time, Veraart will be promoted to the position of franchise vice-president for Western Europe. He will be replacing Morthen Johannessen who is also being promoted.

As Marketing Week went to press it was not known which post will be allocated to Johannessen.

The changes place a couple of months after it was revealed that Simon Lowden – Pepsi’s UK marketing manager for colas – was to be promoted to the post of marketing director of flavours for ESSA, which includes 7-Up.

In the light of this second spate of marketing moves, Lowden may be considered for Tim Davie’s old job.

Lowden was the man responsible for the Pepsi Chart event on Channel 5 and the Spice Girls on-pack CD promotion last year.

The post of UK marketing manager for colas remains vacant.
