Evans to go in here

Airport poster contractor Sky Sites is planning multimillion pound sponsorship packages for London’s three airports.

The company is looking for a UK commercial director to develop the package, which would include arrival and departure corridors at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted.

Joe Evans, Sky Sites chief executive, says: “We’ll be looking for one or two large deals where the sponsor will effectively dominate London in the eyes of the travelling public.”

The commercial director will report to UK managing director Guy Cheston, and develop other advertising products.

He or she will also look at the feasibility of innovations such as Tunnelvision – where a sequence of ads inside a rail or road tunnel gives the effect of a moving ad.

Sky Sites announced that it was to buy US company Ackerley Airport Advertising last month (MW May 28).
