Cabal to launch first two magazines

Cabal Communications, the publishing house set up by ex-IPC editor-in-chief Sally O’Sullivan, is to launch its first two titles next month. They are called Front and The Real Homes Magazine.

Front is a lifestyle title aimed at 18 to 24-year-old men and will “concentrate on all areas of the younger male lifestyle”. These include music, sport, fashion, TV and sex.

The Real Homes Magazine, aimed at the mass home interest market, will be edited by the former editor of IPC’s Livingetc, Sarah Bravo.

Front, which will initially have a promotion price of 1 rising to 2 from December, will be edited by a former contributor to IPC’s Loaded, Piers Hernu. The launch print run for Front will be 400,000 and Cabal is hoping for a settle down circulation of 200,000.

Both titles will be supported by a promotional campaign which has been planned in-house. A spokeswoman for the company says that Cabal may be looking for an agency to support future launches.

Cabal Communications was set up in July, with plans to launch 12 magazines within its first year.
