Moss signs up for Mini celebrations

Supermodel Kate Moss has agreed to join the 40th birthday celebrations of classic British car the Mini on one condition – she gets driving lessons.

The learner driver from Croydon is one of a group of celebrities including rock legend David Bowie and fashion designer Paul Smith who have been commissioned to design their own customised Minis to mark the car’s 40th anniversary next year.

Moss has designed a Mini laced with spider webs after drawing inspiration from her pet tarantula named Fred.

It is understood she is also learning to drive as part of the arrangement, and has been having lessons over the last few months.

Bowie has designed a Mini that is covered in chrome and Smith’s is based on a favourite piece of striped cloth.
