Music licensing help is at hand

Your Special Report on product licensing, “Test of character” (MW September 10), made excellent reading but missed out one important organisation.

MCPS (The Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society) is the UK rights organisation which clears the use of music, on behalf of its UK copyright holder members, on a whole range of retail and non-retail products, where music is recorded.

These include: records, CDs and tapes, feature films, radio and TV © commercials, corporate and educational videos, novelty products, computer games and premium products, like CD giveaways from magazines.

The MCPS Licensing Services team are happy to help and advise anyone on music copyright and obtaining a licence is often easier than you would think.
