Renault UK appoints new marketing director

Renault UK has appointed a new marketing director from the French motor company’s Paris office.

Thierry Moreau joins the UK division after 10 years with Renault in France. He replaces Roland Bouchara, who has returned to France as regional director of Renault in Lille.

Moreau was most recently executive secretary of European sales for Renault. Prior to that he was head of strategic planning worldwide and was involved with the launch of the Megane in 1995.

He will take over all aspects of product marketing and distribution in the UK and have an involvement in advertising at board level.

Communications director Tim Mack retains day-to-day responsibility for UK advertising.

Renault is performing well in the UK market. It has driven its market share up to 8.2 percent in the year to August, from 7.4 percent for the same period last year.

The company recently launched a new advertising campaign for the latest model of the Clio, featuring French actress Helen Mathieu and British actor Stuart Laing, which uses the tagline: “size matters”. Previous advertising staring Nicole and Papa was enormously popular.
