The Independent Television Commission’s complaints report for August informs us that an amazing 519 viewers complained about the demise of Kevin the Hamster in an ad for Levi’s created by the agency.

Apparently a significant number of Britain’s children had recently suffered the loss of their own furry little friends.

Similarly, in a press ad for Audi, also created by BBH, a pink toy bunny – which bears no deliberate resemblance to the Duracell bunny – has been hit by a passing motorist.

The mangled ball of pink fluff prompted a deluge of complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority.

Then there’s the Audi TV ad, which features an upside down world, where a hedgehog falls to earth with an alarming thud.

The Diary wonders if there is some warped creative wandering the halls of BBH.
