There is an old marketing axiom: “You have to jump through hoops to keep your clients.” Well, in the case of Pretty Polly, an awful lot more is expected.

London design agency MGA was commissioned by its client to come up with a novel way of raising money for charity. The company wanted to impress the tights maker and decided to do a tightrope charity walk – very inventively playing on the meaning of the word “tights”.

However, disaster hit MGA client services director Liz Hallett, who fell from the practice wire, breaking three ribs and puncturing one of her lungs.

The Diary is convinced her devotion will have impressed this particularly demanding client.
