Pepsi appoints new flavours chief

Pepsi has appointed a new marketing director for flavours for Europe, sub Saharan and Africa.

John Galloway, a senior marketing manager for flavours in North America, is to take up the post which was vacated by Soren Mills in June.

Galloway will be responsible for the Mountain Dew and 7-Up brands in the UK.

Galloway worked on the Mountain Dew brand in his US post.

Before joining Pepsi two years ago, Galloway worked for a sales promotion agency in the US.

He will report to Tim Davie, vice-president of marketing for Europe, sub Saharan and Africa, who took over from Arnold Veraart in June.

Simon Lowden, former marketing manager of colas, was promoted to Davie’s old job as marketing director for colas, ESSA.

Galloway’s appointment completes the Pepsi marketing team, and comes after Dean Robson, former marketing controller of the European division for the Guinness brand, joined as UK marketing manager for flavours in October (MW October 8).

Robson is working alongside Paul Birkett, who held the flavours job before being promoted to the post of UK marketing manager for colas in June.

Pepsi spends 778,300 on advertising the 7-Up brand in the UK, according to ACNielsen-MEAL.
