Janet stirs up ISP Xmas bash

Janet Street-Porter has never been one to abide by the usual standards of taste, as she proved when guest speaker at the Institute of Sales Promotion Christmas lunch.

It transpires that Street-Porter has been asked to make several more series of her TV show about the joys of rambling.

But, she told the ISP bash, the standard of the hotels she had to stay in while making the series had given her second thoughts.

Although not the most glitzy establishments, the hotels prided themselves on customer service. Indeed, one hotel really had thought of everything.

On top of a TV, alongside a “for your convenience” notice, was a bowl of tea-bags and a pint glass filled with tampons.

The only thing Street-Porter says cheered her up was making a nice brew and stirring it with – yes, you guessed it.
