CIC shortlists four for 2m account

CIC Video has drawn up a shortlist of advertising agencies for its 2m account to promote box office hits such as Antz and Saving Private Ryan.

Delaney Fletcher Bozell, BMP4, Griffin Bacal and BDP have been selected to pitch for the account. Previous incumbent FCA! parted company with CIC before Christ mas and will not be repitching.

Stuart Williams, marketing director for CIC, says: “We are looking for an agency to work on various projects. This year will be our biggest yet when we will be releasing Dreamworks titles Antz and Saving Private Ryan.”

The advertising agency will work with production company Lipsync for TV advertising which is tailored to the UK market, with UK promotions and voice-overs combined with studio footage.

CIC will use outdoor, radio, press and TV, although the media mix varies depending on each title.

CIC is the video distribution arm set up by Viacom, which is a joint venture between Paramount and Seagram-owned Universal. It is briefing agencies and a pitch is due to take place at the end of the month.

Optimedia handles media buying for the CIC advertising account, which is not up for pitch.
