Saatchi’s Pringle quits to go solo

Hamish Pringle, Saatchi & Saatchi’s vice-chairman, director of marketing, is leaving to set up his own consultancy, Brand Soul.

Pringle, former chairman and chief executive of K Advertising, which merged with Saatchi two years ago, will advise clients on brand strategy for cause-related marketing.

He says: “More and more companies are thinking about their role in society and how they relate to government, their customers and their staff.

“If you think of a brand as a set of promises to the customer, Brand Soul will help companies to create, make and keep them.”

Pringle has been closely involved with Saatchi’s cause-related marketing division, Cause Connection, since its launch in 1997. Together with Marjorie Thompson, director of Cause Connection, he has written a book called “Brand Soul: how cause related marketing builds brands”, to be published in March. He will leave Saatchi this week to set up his venture in London’s Piccadilly.

Pringle worked at Leagas Delaney before joining K Advertising – then known as KHBB – in 1992. Previously he spent four years as a partner in Madell Wilmot Pringle, which was sold to EURO RSCG in 1990.
