CDP nets BFI IMAX cinema launch campaign

CDP has won the task of promoting the UK’s largest cinema screen, the BFI London IMAX Cinema, which opens in London this spring.

It will be run by the British Film Institute, which has awarded the operating licence to US company Ogden Entertainment, a division of Ogden Corporation. CDP will work with Ogden to handle advertising, media and film sponsorship. It is thought the account for the London site and other cinemas could be worth 1.5m. The screen will compete with an existing IMAX cinema at the Trocadero in London.

CDP managing director Simon Myers says: “It is a triple challenge, launching an attraction; filling it with visitors; and launching a brand that will be extended in the UK and beyond.”

The screen at the 485-seat cinema will be over 20 metre high and 26 metres wide. It will show two-dimensional and three-dimensional films.
