British Gas is to launch a new TV campaign through BMP DDB using a ‘docusoap’ format. The ads will feature real-life encounters between British Gas’ engineers and its customers. Directed by Dominic Savage, whose previous work includes the Cutting Edge TV series, the ads are designed to highlight the expertise of British Gas engineers. Marketing director Jon Kinsey says: ‘We wanted to develop a style that was innovative while showing our expert staff carrying out their normal work in real situations.’
