Soccernet (www.soccernet.com), the leading football Website, has signed up consumer electronics giant Philips as sponsor of a three-month online competition devised and implemented by new media agency Carat Interactive. The promotion offers visitors the chance to win Philips digital terrestrial set-top box every week for the next 15 weeks by identifying a well-known football player from a blurred photo.

Head New Media has launched a special division to service the company’s interactive TV projects. Head End Interactive Television (www.head-end.com) will aim to service interactive TV clients, says managing director Felix Velarde, by moving beyond existing experimental projects to look “more practically at the advertising and direct response side of the equation”.

Xybernote, the Surrey-based easy listening music retailer, has launched a Website (www.musicmetropolis.com) offering global access to its range of specialist CDs. The site was designed by e-commerce specialist Commerce NTI.

Random House, the book publisher, has launched an online discount voucher promotion alongside bookseller Waterstone’s, based around the launch of a new hi-tech themed novel Vienna Blood, by author Adrian Matthew. Customers who access the Vienna Blood page on the Random House Website (www.randomhouse.co.uk) can download a voucher offering 1 off the price of the book at branches of Waterstone’s.

Top Jobs on the Net, the recruitment site, has renewed its advertising contract with AOL UK for the third year running. The site currently attracts 329,000 page impressions a month, according to the site’s audit by ABC//electronic.

Phillips, the world’s third biggest auction house, has relaunched its Website (www.phillips-auctions.com) in a redesign handled by new media company pres.co. The international auction company includes a sales results section, allowing users to track the prices achieved at auction for items sold at its showrooms across the world.

Interflora has launched a promotional campaign for its online booking service ahead of Mother’s Day this week. Customers booking through its site (www.interflora.co.uk) have until 1pm on Friday to transact orders for delivery the following day.
